Following on from yesterdays starter motor swap I fitted new seals to the drivers and passengers doors today - with hopefully the rear hatch one being done tomorrow ready for VW Fest at the weekend!

ticked another day off me chuff chart and checked basics like tyre pressures all round/fan belt/oil level (new oil last week)charging liesure battery and double checking what tools i've got to hand if needs be(fully fledge aa member),all ready for our trip to the gower on sat!!!

Removed rear 1/4 & replaced with one complete window, fed up with the black gaffer tape round it to stop it leaking!! (Monday) Today repaired rock 'n' roll bed hinges as they wouldn't catch when putting bed back up thus preventing the possibility of getting a hernia!!
Hubby also made a stay to keep the seat up when loading & unloading the under bed storage. Washed the mud out from under Betty that we brought home with us from Hartland Quay (Stoke Barton Farm campsite) a few days ago. Polish tomorrow......

Some great stuff going on here! Dig this thread...

I had to pull the motor to fix a few fiddly bits...(see the oil leak?)

Nice! What are those out of? And the mounts...how'd you work that?

Early Porsche tombstones, but the trimmer was glad the fabric centres were fine as he's never seen that fabric before.
Used the Porsche runners and welded a couple of heavy angle iron plates to fix to the tubs.

Yesterday I had to leave it in some smog shops parking lot and have a friend come get me to take me to a much needed Dr. appt. I was on the way there and all of a sudden I had no resistance in the clutch pedal. It worked as far as going up and down but it didn't pull the clutch in far enough to put the bus in gear. So here it is getting loaded on my hubby's tow truck! Of course these things have to happen when you have to be somewhere at a certain time! LOL

Got it home and on the lift and this is what we found.

I bought this cable back on May 22, 2012 so it is only a little over 2 months old. You can't tell to much in the picture but the cable just started coming out of the end piece. I took it back and got a new one, hopefully this one will last a bit longer.
