Wanted to get DeeDee out from under her cover when I got in from work tonight, but typically.... its been scorching all day and started raining on my way home

Took the fuel gauge out to see why that doesn't work and also started some retail therapy on JK lol

Didn't do anything personally however did get to see pics of Murphy getting some work done!
Thanks to Scotty at Perfect Paint!

My protégé is currently fabbing some panels.
As suspected a nice original bus has the nice original polystyrene sound deadening that likes to melt when it gets warm - hence the removed indicator!

Soon be back home and ready for AC14 on Fri!

Couple of little upgrades,

Added a small 65 amp leisure / auxiliary battery, only really charge phones, air bed pump etc so didn't need much power :D

Added a little kill toggle so I can isolate it

Will add a split charger to it when I get 5 :D

Collected Murphy from Perfect Paint,
Drove home with a smile on my face,
Prep for AC14 = snow foamed, shampoo and waxed, wheels polished, interior hoovered and cleaned, oil checked and cool boxes brought into the house to "cool"
Just back from brimming him with fuel ready for the off tomorrow morning!

Our first camping show of the year! Cant wait! 8)

Yesterday Buddha passed the MVIS (MOT in Canada) so my son and I went for a ride to where the end of the documentary "Once More" was filmed. We had been there many times, but this time was special driving in our aircooled bus. Awesome day!

Started fitting newly upholstered trim panels, then took engine out, replaced inlet manifold gasket, put it back in, not bad for 4 hrs work.

Filled the tyres up with Tyre Bond at Aircooled show, so hopefully no more punctures ever again

Why didn't I buy my bus years ago !?

Got my rear light working after much fiddling about and having to take the little connectors out as one was broken and I had no where to plug in the light. Thanks to a bit of copper wire and some crimps, all sorted. But every little plastic part of the bus is so delicate, I managed to break the small bit of plastic housing around the back of the light. Thanks to some super glue I fixed it.

fitted half the rest of the panels, only to find out I've trimmed a panel for a late bay sliding door  should have checked before trimming. Also found a leaky rear wheel cylinder. going to Cornwall in a month

Fitted these 2 gauges courtesy of Early VW.

Turned out not to bad I thought.

And me

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, worth the money I think

Popped to a nearby beach in Prestatyn with my wife and one of my dogs to watch the waves for a while, good times.

Spent the last two days giving the bus its first proper proper clean after owning it for 3 years
The roof felt really rough and when I washed it the water left white streaks everywhere on the bottom half, even the water running to the drain was white  So had to do it twice :?
After the wash I polished all the top half with Farecela G3 by hand as my mop is a 7" so way to big for the window frames etc.
Need to do the roof and bottom half next.
Also bought some cheap baby wipes and cleaned all the door shuts and up behind the dash etc. Trying to get rid of 25 years of California dust aint easy.

Cheers Martin - all sorted!
Nearly thirteen months till the next one! 8)
All set for a summer of cruising around the UK and Europe now!
