He first fitted a 1.6 engine of an Audi in it with a 40mm twin Weber and drove it for a while. But he still had a 1.8 G60 engine from a Passat Syncro in his garage and that's what's in now! Tuned it a little bit to 180HP and you've probably seen the result. 8)
