ah right, i want to fit one but dont have a timing gun, spose i could gamble and hope i dont have to adjust it

I just bought one from Machine7, i know they are a fiver more than kingfisher but the delivery is free and i wanted to order a few more parts.
I get really pissed off with rip off delivery charges.

Fair play kingfisher are £57 for one which is the cheapest around i think but they wanted to charge me £10 delivery for the ignition, leads, and a dizzy cap!

apparently it's the weight of it! I'm sorry but they must be making a few quid off the delivery even if it is insured

Thinking about getting one for the van, is it better to get Petronix 1 or 2, the coil and leads or go the whole hog and get their new dizzi.

You could witness mark where the dizzy sits on the engine and then when you refit it adjust it to the same position, at least then you wont be to far off.
I agree that a lot of company's over charge for postage, thats why i usually pay extra for parts as Kingfisher are my local (25miles) parts store, although just recently due to Justkampers £5 maximum postage i have started useing them

You don't need to take the dizzy off the engine to fit the electronic ignition kit so as long as your engine is running correctly now just fit the petronix kit and it will run as it did before if not a bit better and should start easier as well.

We've just fitted 2 kits to 2 different buses without taking the dizzy out and without having to re time the engine afterwards

If you remove the dizzy and clamp in entirety, it can be refitted without disturbing the timing at all! ;)
