window winder options - what else fits?

as above really chaps,really don't want those readily available ones with the holes in the arm,fancy something different.

I would love the 60's bug ivory knobed ones but don't they have an R clip keping them on?

If the spline hole is the same size,what's stopping me cutting a lip in the spline and fitting them with a clip??

anyone done it?....any suggestions?
