Ball joint removal

My 72 Westfalia needs the ball joints replaced.
I have the new joints but need to know what tool I need to buy to remove and reinstall them?

If you’re talking about your front trailing arm ball joints, then a 10 tonne (minimum) hydraulic press and some offcuts of steel to make sure you can adequately support the arm on it’s ‘ears’ whilst pushing the joint out. If they’ve been in there a long time, they might be stubborn.

Alternatively, take them to a garage with these facilities and a pack of beers!

I second that. Took mine to a friendly garage. He maxed out his 10 tonne press and heated until glowing with a blow torch. For most, it's something that can really be done at home.
