Well the strike seems to go on.....

On the advice of my local postmaster I have taken all my parcels to the post office every day as usual.

Collections are apparently being made each afternoon and taken to the local sorting office. Certainly there are no post boxes in my local area with blocked-up post boxes, so perhaps that is a good sign....I hope so!

So all I can say is that if you have ordered anything from us recently, then it has all been posted out 1st class as usual. If it's not yet arrived, I offer my sincere apologies but unfortunately the 'movements' of the Post Office are beyond my control.

A big 'Thankyou' to all our customers for your patience and understanding, and lets hope all the postal services resume as soon as possible.

Carole, Baydreamers.

Now I might get flamed for this - but I'm a postman!

I'm not in the union, and I've been to work every day and crossed the picket line...
We've been going out every day and collecting from the local post offices and letterboxes, the mail is still getting sorted here and forwarded to the distribution centres as usual - many of the rounds in our offices have been delivered too - we're not all bad!

;)

Hiya J&M....

You won't get a roasting from me, my late Dad (bless him) was a postie for 52 years....!!

And I can vaguely remember as a small child him being on strike for ages and ages, and how hard that was for us as a family. My Mum tells me we only survived thanks to friends and family helping out with food parcels and the like.

There are always 2 sides to the coin with these things, but fair play to you for sticking to your principles, and a big 'Thankyou' from me as someone that runs a small business, you are helping to keep me going!

Lets hope it can all be resolved soon.......

Right......breathes in deeply......

At first i agreed with the strikes when it was a day at a time, but now its gone on far to long and causing to much disruption and is doing NO GOOD ATALL, in fact is damaging the royal mail even more.

Its cost my work a good deal of money, so is that an incentive to keep using the royal mails already crap service........no!

If you dont like your pay and work hours get another job! is it really that hard!

The dude who i live with is a posty and he was up for the odd day strike, but now is hacked off with it and goes into work aswell, cos he gets no cash on strike days and not every doood can aford 4 days unpaid every 5 mins. Got called some names aswell by co workers for doing so (thats nice of them) so is this having a good effect???? no.

Sorry if im ranting, but striking is out of date in these times and i am a firm believer if you dont like doing something then change it, its not a case of giving in, its taking it into your own hands and doing something to change.

I used to be a fish farmer   and got fed up of being cold and wet every day, so i moved home, got a better job and now get paid about 5 times what i used to earn. Much happier and dont smell of fish! :D

J&M. I agree with you sentiments - 'specially about striking is sooo 1970's.

Good luck with what ever the outcome is with the strike :D
