Has anyone re drilled the original drums to 5 x130 to fit teledials? Im sure it would be far cheaper than adapters assuming there is enough metal in the right areas.

Not sure if the drums are cast or weld'able and then you could possibly re engineer but it would have to be very precise of course so its not out of alignment
I swapped the rear to late bay pcd - 112 x 5 which meant I could get the stub axle for porsche pattern and redrill the late drums to clear the wheel studs
these in fact

Rears are cast alloy adaptors bolted to wide5 drums, they allow the wheel to fill the arch perfectly, although a little high in these pics as I raised it all for the road trip
I'm in the process of fitting adjustable spring plates to my 69 and have a set of PCD adapters (5 x 205 to 5 x 130) to fit my 7 x 15 teledials (ET52).
I am just weighing up whether it is all going to fit . I have a pair of 205 60 R15 tyres I was planning on fitting at the rear.
The wheels fit really well but I'm worried that the tyres are going to rub on the back of the rear quarter panel or wheels arch. I have between 10 and 15mm of clearance.
Any advise? My van doesn't currently have an engine or box in and the the tyres aren't fitted yet so.
6" x 15" et 53.3 with 175/55/15 Continentals on the front, 7" x 15" et 52.3 with 185/65/15 on the rear. 25mm spacer on the front wheels.
Before I went narrower and lower.
Might put them back on and see what they look like now....
I'm running Conti Vanco contact2 185/60R15 on the front and 195/70R15 on the rears, these fit without any rubbing and fill the arches perfectly for me, and keep the rolling circumference pretty much as VW intended
