Have any of you guys had problems refitting the calipers on disc brake models? In fact not just the calipers but the disc too! Have had to machine 4mm off to get them to fit Mind you my spindles were home made so this is prbably where the intolerance came from...just curious if anyone else has struggled

Have you guys received the spindles and plates yet?

What is the quality and fit like?
Are they easy or difficult, is there any welding required?

Cheers,
Ollie

Do you know if you have to turn the splines for the horseshoe plates, or do they just fit inbetween the springplates and the axles?

Maybe someone could make a cardboard stencil and send it to me?

Cheers for the offer, but I went ahead and bought a set with some spindles anyway.

Any news on these might try soem if they can do rapid delivery?

bit late, where ordered last december 2007, thread is a year old now

nate and rapid is a sentance that doesnt go together, he isnt the quickest, but having said that with the weak pound, i guess he aint gotso many UK orders to fill at present, so you may get them fairly quick

i put the horseshoes on my old bay, with adjusters on the front beam

and now have a full Wagenswest narrowed adjustable beam on my westy

I'd quite like a set, but I'd imagine they work out a bit more pricey with the current exchange rate?

If anyone hears of a set for a '71-'72 bay for sale, please let me know 8)

I'm in the same boat, my '71 bay has the 1 year only brake set up and i cant find droppped spindles for these, my only option is to upgrade for a later front brake set up

start a new group buy, Nate will give you discount on 3+ sets, and limited duty too

How much do you think they are likely to cost, spindles, horseshoes?

Alistair

I just bought a set of spindle and horseshoes a month or two ago, total price including shipping (and the prices have gone up) was two installments of $322.50 (that includes shipping) one up front and the other when the spindles and shoes were ready to ship. So $645 in total shipped.

I was lucky the dollar was at $2 to £1, now its nowhere near as good :(

at todays exchange its gonna be 645.00 USD = £434.974 GBP and you'll lose a bit more with paypal or your banks exchange rate/commission

i got lucky and didnt have to pay any duty, apparently its totally random which parcels they chose but nate marks them down anyway.

How did they ship?

I know here USPS > AnPost only hit for charges at random, payable on delivery, but Fedex collect a month or two later.
