Bit of an update fellas. Prices I originally quoted are for the non locking shifters. For the locking shifter you would be looking at $512 USD + shipping of approx $50-70 USD per unit. Add import duties and VAT and you're looking at about 420 GBP per unit. That's out of my budget at the moment guys. Might re think it closer to summer but can't commit to that outlay at the moment. Cheers

That's crazy money surely? Are you paying for a name here?

I managed to get my locker through from the states without paying any import taxes and it worked out around £320 delivered - I consider it one of the best modifications from the standard, refurbished shifting that I have done to the bus.

Not just paying for a name you are paying for solid, reliable and precise engineering - I wouldnt drive a bus without one fitted.

Not cheap but more than worth the investment - and it can be removed and refitted to a new bus!

I suppose the fact that you can use it for one bus then remove it and use it on another is good, pay for it once benefit many times over, do they have a garantee, or are they pretty much solid as a rock for reliability?

Good exchange rate when you got yours Stu. Now with the current rate it's about 360 GBP including postage but not including duties. Still a lot of coin.

Totally solid - cant imagine ever needing to repair it as it appears to be hewn out of billet steel.

Sorry mate - just checked the bank statement and it was £378 delivered not £320 as I posted earlier.
Would have been another £100 or so with import taxes of they had caught me!

Not a cheap addition but a welcome one!

When I imported mine 3 years ago I had to pay the tax, I was vex at the time but no getting around that. Always factor in the cost of import duty before you consider buying a Berg. You could of course go for a German built shifter with no import duty

Whilst i would never buy any part solely on looks , that bugtech shifter in photo on this post? if thats half as good in operation as it looks , i"m having one !!!

Slightly off topic, i'm having trouble with my empi trigger shifter, very stiff to lift it into reverse, gave a good squirt of wd40 around the trigger bit but still very stiff, any ideas folks or has santa got to drop a new shifter off

I bought a Gene Berg locking one with a ball handle in the last group buy just over a year ago, and bought a new linkage kit from Heritage and cant fault either.

Hopefully over xmas i can get some ramp time at my mates garage and fit em both  I need to as i cant fit my 3 gauge pod at the moment as the standard shifter has far to long a throw and i'd never get it in 1st

Remeber what it cost all up with the ball Nugsy?
Hi,
I had a Gene Berg Locking shifterdelivered in October, With postage it was $589.12 (£403.90) Duty (if you end up paying it) is £84.95. TOTAL £487.98. It took 4 months to get delivered as they only do batches every so often. It's a luxury item, but well worth the investment asthey are so difficult to remove once locked - very sturdy indeed.I bought a VS, but fancied the extra security and deterrence that a GB locking shifter brings.

One way to avoid paying tax is to have it marked down as being a lower price, but you run the risk of only claiming that lower amount should it get lost. This advice was given to me by Jimmy Carr - the comedian, I think he's renovating a bay.

Does look good, but got more important things on the bus to sort out first, bit of a luxury tbh, going to vegas in march so if i win on the tables then i might treat myself, anyone on here know of any parts shops in las vegas?
