Razzel, John John & I will be popping our Glastonbury cherry this year & we're all very excited about it.

Is anybody else going or has gone in the last couple of years?

What are the facilities like?

Cheers Biddy

yes, we are there and have been since 1999. well looking forward to it

as for facilities, get there as early as you can as the camping fields fill up and you will end up on an incline. Glastonbury is a completely different festival with a camper. You are outside the perimeter fence so little trouble and theft (touch wood) We always take a portaloo as toilets in camping area can get rather busy. also, take water and alcohol gel.

Do not take any bottles of alcohol though as they search the vans and will take it from you. Every year we see upset people having the crate of lovely cold bottled lager confiscated as the security people will ask to see inside the van.

However, it is all good fun and the best place to be in a Camper

Hi There,

Cheers for the advice, i've always wanted to go to Glasto but really didn't fancy tenting it, cos i'd get soo drunk i'd never find it & i hear it can get quite disgusting towards the end.

So heres what we've got so far

Portaloo, baby wipes, toilet roll & alchol gel - sorted
Beer - taking cans with us (thats OK is it?) - sorted
Planning on leaving at 11am, 2 hour drive, 1 hour queue to get in - sort of sorted

We'll keep a look out for you, we're in a beige bus with brown go faster stripes.

Thanks, Biddy

ill be there! taking my 4 kids this year  first time in the camper but as said above its way nicer/safer up there than in the scummy place i normaly camp :D
cant wait and only 10 miles from me!
you will love it!! ill look out for your vans.

dont no why they call it glastonbury its in pilton nearer shepton than glastonbury
all the locals call it pilton festival :? take your welly boots they will cost an arm and leg there
bin bags

Cans are fine...as long as you are not planning to sell any? Weather looks good but take some wellies just in case.

See you all there!!

We're taking the van for its first camping trip with us, been before in a tent about 2003 i think, should be arriving in a convoy of four bays if it all goes to plan. I think ours is the only early of the four but you can't really miss it - not many factory hightop in scummy white on the roads.

planning on getting there early, our friends are leaving hull tonight but we only have to travel from oxford.

should be ok with cans, we took them when we camped - don't forget the bacon!

have fun

we'll be leaving at 9.00 to be there for 11 ish, so as to get a reasonable position (and set the awning, tent and utility tent up. Our lazy friend arrive the day after!!

Hi There,

OK so i'm going to need the portaloo before i get anywhere near Pilton Pop Festival... We're going to get our monies worth out of that then.

Bacon - sorted
Rizla - what do i need them for?
Wellies - sorted (it wouldn't be a festival if it didn't rain)

See you all there then.

Cheers, Biddy

.............commercialised middle class kitsch……don’t follow leaders watch your parking meters………

…and you missed The King at the CIA sat night by being there

."............commercialised middle class kitsch……don’t follow leaders watch your parking meters………"

Well we have been going since 1999 and I love it. sorry but if people think its a middle class thing I think their wrong. rain was fine and minimal, VW was great and music was good too. the only think was let it down was the "yesterdays men" line-up and the ill-informed politics being spouted on the stage. Aside from that we love it and will be there next year.

cheers
