In my own little world;-)
Im thinking of just running front speakers a sub, both amplified on a 4 channel amp and an iPod with a jack...no head unit.
Is this possible?? anyone else got this set up?

Definitely possible Paul. Don't know how it works but Sipickup had this set up in his single cab. Plugs his iphone straight into the amp and away he goes.

Ive got this set up in my beetle, nice and easy to use, it is worth getting a decent amp I would say though.

you need one of these

you can get better quality though, did this in my sisters mini with a little £25 amp off ebay and some old infinity speakers i had, sounded good.

Finaly got round to sorting a device (Bluetooth) that would allow me to play music without a head unit (or a phono jack lead) .... and its bob on!

So spec it:

Alpine v12 amp driving a JBL 10" Sub and component front speakers with a VicTsing Bluetooth handsfree kit from Amazon for £15.99
Ive attached a video of the device and how I'm using it:

Awesome bit of kit. 8)

The joys of Bluetooth becoming so much more accessible nowadays... I'm going down a similar route now that my buddy box is up and running with the integrated HU, amp, sub and component speakers. I'm looking at using a Bluetooth receiver (as per link below) and a 12v to 5v DC board so that I can take a power source straight from the amp power cables to the Bluetooth device. I'm trying to keep everything within the confines of the buddy box, so that the only thing plugged into it is the Vibe plug for the power and remote switch on. Ok, so I'm still running a HU, but in theory the BT device should also plug straight into an amp if you so wished. I will post up some pics on my thread once it has arrived and I can have a dabble in the garage for a few hours.

Looking forward to be able to control the music in the van from the comfort of the camp fire!
