Ok, so I've established that a couple of instrument lights are not working...... can you buy the little plastic holder and bulbs from anywhere, as it looks like the little metal earthing tag is corroded away....

1971 bay.

Thanks in advance...

Nice one - do these improve the lights - ( will i be able to seethe speedo in the dark  )

I've used Mega Bug quite a few times. Good folk to deal with and send stuff out quickly. Before you install the new bulb holders be sure to rub down the hole on the dash cluster with emery cloth to ensure a good contact with the tab.

Simo - could help improve things but I'd try cleaning the contacts. One thing I didn't realise was that the headlight switch acts as a dimmer for the dash lights if you rotate it . This turned out to be the quickest fix I found for dim dash cluster lights!

I also did not realise that the headlight switch incorporated a dash dimmer until I bought a new switch...

Ooooo- didnt know that either  , will experiment tomro :msn4:

.... carrying on the subject on dim lights, got now to the point of knowing what's working and not by swapping a few over (while I wait for my 'mega bus' delivery to arrive).... the blue full beam light is rather dim.

I checked voltage of the connections to the bulb and it is showing 10.2 volts..... where is my missing voltage going? All the other bulbs are showing between 11.5v and 12.5v. The full beam headlight itself seems fine.
