Thanks, but I'm after the straight adjustable ones. I think these ones may be OK...

So heritage so have them!!

(Ah damn looks like they're for a beetle!)

Oh right not sure of I've seen straight ones for a bus but I've not really looked! Would turning them on the splines compensate for the drop?

Yeah it does, but make the plate really near the lower stop, it seems like the previous owner has done this.

Looks like wagenswest do some, not sure who a UK supplier is though

Those Transporterhaus ones look to have a much smaller fixed drop to them than the ones on your van, so would probably be suitable. I had them on our old van and had no issues.

Get some from Alex at Transporterhaus.

Thanks, just contacted them and got a reply from Alex, in stock and ready to order. The only slight reservation I have is that my engine is a new 1776 and I'm not sure what the gearbox is and therefore not sure which IRS etc. I have. The rear drums are SP 112mm so not the originals. How will I know if the plates will fit?

Here's the axle..

...[EDIT] I suppose that's got nothing to do with the torsion bar
