Well the engines out of mine, stripped ready to be looked at.

Went and towed it back to my garage. To be honest lost all enthusiasm for the bus. I have tickets for camper jam but at the moment i am not sure if imwill get it ready in time. Cant get the engine back to be looked at until.after easter at thr earliest. So i might have it back by april and back in he bus by may depending on work and geting a slot at my local specialist to get it fitted.

I imagine you've lost enthusiasm of the engine reliability, not the bus. When my original engine was knackered I was mightily pissed but after spending a shedload of money on it I decided to bite the bullet up the spec and make it stronger and more powerful. Seeing as yours will be striped down why not increase the CC, put a stroker crank in, make sure the engine is better than the one you put in.

Check out my thread when my engine was striped and rebuilt http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=32661&hilit=autotechniks

You'll be back

I have been in a similar situation re: engine - I was looking at T25s last year I was so sick of it. Now running in an Autotechniks built 2110. Can't wait until it's run in. As per 5erge's experiences not cheap but what price peace of mind? Hang in there.

Jesus nearly 3 months since I last posted in this thread!!!!

Well I still do not have a working bus and i still don't have any enthusiasm for poppy either, she has been sorn on moth balled in my garage.

I am hoping to go to camper jam this weekend and just camp in a tent ad drive up in my daily. Fingers crossed wandering around the campers i will have some inclination to get my bus sorted and back on the road

I have felt low of late too... but I know good times will roll again! 8)

Yeah mines for sale again today too :(
If I get time to work on it on Saturday it'll be a keeper again!!
I've looked in the fridge & there are no more tins of enthusiasm left either

hmmm still not got an engine for my van. But I will cover that story in a separate thread, so anyone looking for an engine hang fire as I may help you remove one supplier from your list.

I have resigned myself to not having a bus this year, I have missed 3 shows so far this year, wont have my bus for my camping holiday in august as I doubt I can sort an engine in a couple of weeks... and I will be going to beach bugging in my daily driver. So I have decided I will concentrate on next year instead and focus my energy in getting stripped for its restoration at midland paintworks at the end of the year.

Decide what I am going to do with the interior as I haven't used the kitchen I bought so think I will sell it and replace it with another buddy seat instead.

I have lost interest in my bus. camper jam was spent looking at t5's friday and saturday and even sunday morning with thoughts of buying one spinning round my head, I was justifying having one to myself to the point that I actually started to think it would be a better idea.

Thankfully sunday lunchtime i wandered round the early bays lined up to be judged. Decided that it was worth plodding on with poppy.

So watch this space as I will get round to stripping her out, selling some bits and getting some a new engine for her.

Once Stuart and Drew get their hands on it you will soon find a whole heap of enthusiasm again :D I was grinning ear to ear when we picked our bus up from them. Still gets a smile every time I open the garage door

Sorry to hear about your engine woes. Any project that means a lot to you, will test your resolve from time to time. It's good your going to preserver with it. It think your bus looks great already, just keep going!

well i received some good news about my engine and it looks like I may have my bus back on the road by the end of the month if everything goes to plan.

so to celebrate i have just got my tickets for busfest. worse case we will use the ml

Plus i received my new tacho yesterday, lovely piece of work by aspro so slowly getting some enthusiasm again.

we are evening talking of using it in europe next year if it proves reliable. :)

I think if i hadn't booked it in with them i would have got rid. But I am really looking forward to getting them to sort her out and make her pristine again

I've just a newbie and have only just seen this whole thread.

I'm so glad you've decided not to part with Poppy, Such a cute camper, It'd be such a shame to part with her now

hope you get the engine sorted for Busfest!

There's always something that needs doing on them but a working engine is pretty important :)
