I just aquired another bus thats been sat in the desert for an age and its got a lovely sunburnt patina to the paint which I want to keep. I'd like to give it a good clean and a polish/wax before I sell it but I have no idea what the best way to do it is. I really dont want to ruin whats there so I'm reluctant to just dive in with the polisher and compound.

Any suggestions as to the most sympathetic techneique to use?

Just clean it a use a non abrasive wax I use farecla g3 gloss wax paste it's not cheap but it's good
 
So no polishing first? the paintworks pretty flat at the moment so I was hoping to get it to pop a little.
 
I got some polish with a light cutting compound called zymol good stuff smell like holiday !!!
 
Polish the granny out of it and wax as you would with a normal bit of paint.
