The PO had resprayed it that original colour. I never liked the black Devon roof. I seem to remember there were loads about, I looked at about 6, all for sale in Leicestershire, between £800 and £2500. Some of them were fairly rusty with some very poor repairs.

Lockdown bargain buying.... Got myself a more manly compressor and a DeVibliss gun. I've also got a car to do as well as the rest of my van.

It's a 100L,14.6cfm - the most powerful I could find without exceeding a 13A domestic plug. The old fella struggled to get it out of the delivery lorry, it's like 60kg!

If I heat the garage up a bit and shine an inferred heater on the panels I hope to get some done in the next week or two. Anyone got any more tips for spraying in cold weather?

Spraying in cold weather? I say don't. From what I've researched, spraying paint needs a certain range of temperature and humidity to go well.

Brake caliper rebuild....

Never done this before, front n/s was fairly stuck and the wheel would hardly turn. Anyway after a load of swearing and my lad pumping the brake pedal I manged to get the pistons out. All good, the pistons seemed ok, gave them a little rub with 1200 grit. There is a tiny bit of pitting on the edge, does this matter? Also there is only the inner rubber band seal, no outer (is this just a dust seal?), is this normal? Do I just need to replace the inner rubber band bit?

Replaced everything, including the pistons, with the kit from Bigg Red. Great value and customer service. Turned out not to be too difficult in the end.

Oh and if you get brake fluid on your forehead, after a few hours it really hurts!

Well that’s just stupid Dav, coaxing peeps into shoving it in their eye just to see if they can get it out again    .
As my mum said
“You’ll have someone s eye out doing that”
And mum was always right

Ozziedog,,,,,,,, does it hurt though before I try it?

Did an oil change last weekend with some Morris 20W50, went for a spin today, wow so much quieter. I had Mobil 15W40 in before and did about 2000miles in about a year.

Would the oil make that much difference to the noise, or would the difference be due to the fact it probably needed changing, it wasn't all that dark though?

It made a difference to mine, going from 30 to 20W50, but I also changed out the gear oil at the same time so it could've been that.

Use a BUNGYEE cord to hold gear lever in place when in fourth.
One hook on either side to the seats and done.

Bodge-it and scarper helped me with this one...

Replacing the window catch, otherwise the 1/4 window can just be pushed open from the outside.

Drilled out the old one, but have no way of fastening the new one in! Ended up putting a load of windscreen sealant in.

Seems to be a large gap at the bottom, put some more windscreen sealant in.

Going to Cornwall tomorrow so will get some new seals then I get back.
