A mate has an unused set of dellortos he bought for his 1600 sp, dont onow what size - or price yet.
I'm thinking of buying them and fitting them to my 1600 sp.
My question is; will they increase mpg ? or make the truck drink even more ?
Is any likely potential improvement worth the hassle of buying, fitting and setting up twin carbs ??

Thanks

I think in general it depends how you drive. If you go nice and easy they should slightly improve it but if you give it some then it'll drink more.

Hell YES!

Mate its chalk n cheese! Better MPG for starters, less stress on the engine esp on the hills, more drivability ect ect, but make sure if you buy you factor in getting it on the rollers and set up correctly 8) Its not cheap but it NEEDS to be done.

Just

can you get single port manifolds ? what carbs are they baby dells 36s or 40s ?,seems to defeat the point unless you change to twin port heads , you also need decent exhaust plus they have no chokes so a bit of throttle feathering to start .....saying that they look cool , still trying to fine tune mine ....factor in the cost of carbs ,jets, linkage ,rolling road ,exhaust ..not cheap

I was wondering that.
Can't see what difference twin choke carbs will make on a single port engine, which is why I put Weber 34's on mine.

Its the law!

My dells were £300
CB linkage/manifolds/filters were £180
Anti pulse valve £15
Fuel line reducer £5
CB coil mount £15
Rolling Road session £150

So, about £665 in all, people dont bat an eyelid spending this sort of money on lowering ;) but this will transform a van. Reccomended!

I was one of Race Shacks last customers :(

Ive heard of a few in this area since then, however. Where are you?

Talk to easy, I'm sure he knows someone with a rolling road in Brizzle

I have a set of dellortos on mine , would also like to have it set up on a rolling road. Are there any good rolling road testing places in the Essex area.
