Tyre question again

Hi,

I'm thinking of changing the tyres on the van so they are the same size all round with a slightly lower profile.
I currently run 205/75 on the rear & 195/75 on the fronts. To me there is far too much rubber around the wheels.

I was thinking of either 185/65 or 175/65's all round.

Based on the fact that when loaded with 2 kids & 2 adults with camping gear what would be the best best or doesn't it really matter.

I know you get more traction with the 185's but is there a big difference between the two.

Dude are you running 205's on 14 inch stock rims?? If so that is amazing but possibly quite dangerous :shock:

Sorry dude I don't mean to panic you.

Width and diameter don't really effect each other but 14" stock wheels have a set width if that makes sense and 205's, i thought, would bulge considerably over the edges. Although the tyre is the right diameter eg 14, the tyres are too wide for the wheel and might not be as snug a fit as they should be.

I might be wrong but I though 195 was the widest safe tyre you could put on a stock 14" inch wheel. If your motor has stock 15" wheels then I think 205's are fine. I'd maybe get a second opinin though dude as I am far from an expert.

i have 205s on 15's on my bug and theres alot of over-hang, but it gives me (what i really mean is my 'missus' ) a good buffer from kerbing them.

as i have both sizes and both need tyres

I've just bought a set of Sprintstars and want some new tyres for them. Like Kempy I was looking at 185/65/15's all round, can anyone recommend a good tyre to suit?

People like MWS fit Yokos, I think either A Drive or C Drive but am not 100% sure, does anyone have a proper name for these?
