I bought my 76 Tintop already dropped so I'm not sure what make my parts are.
Do any of you guys experience a bad pull to either side when going over bumps or irregular pavement?
I've been told that I need to flip my tie rods?
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks for any help!

If you have TransporterHouse or similar dropped spindles with the ball joints on the opposite way round, then what you have been told sounds like a real possibility, that`s exactly what I did and had those sort of issues plus a lot of tyre wear on the inside edge of the tyres if I remember correctly :? :?

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, There is a thread about it on here somewhere

Hello. My name is David and I live in Missouri, USA. Found this tin top 71 Westy behind a barn since 1990. Quite rusty but with some hand fabrication and funky green panels that was cured. Turned both center stops about an inch a piece and have kumho 175/55r15's on the front. Rear has a combination of torsiin twists and will have 185/60r15's.

anyone running smart car tyres on the front??

Yep.

I don't think there is much choice and not too sure they are the correct rating?!
I went for Bridgestone's 165/50/15, you can get Nankang same size slightly cheaper.

First off. 14" stock rims
Then. 15" splitty wheels
Then. 15" South African Sprints
Then. 15" Beetle Smoothies
Then. 15" Appriance Pacers

Check my thread Portugese van of more

Finally! 7x17 fusch reps with 225x45's on the back, 15 x 5.5's with 175 60's on the front. TH dropped spindles on a stock beam and adjustable spring plates. KYB shocks. Rides and steers a dream.

Hello Neilswheels, how is the fitting of the 225's at the back?

It's getting there. :D

I'm running studded 27X8.5 R14's front and rear.

I have bus coilover shocks on the rear and rear bug coilovers on the front giving me about a 1inch lift.

Drives great!!
