I started up on an old passion of mine - building HiFi kit :D
Not done anything for over 12 years, but suddenly got the bug again - finished of a valve based pre-amp and
this is the result (just needs a nice finish on the top and sorry for the pics, wife took decent camera!!):

What do others do then??

Nice work. Always had great respect for ppl who can work with electrics.Although when you say that too them, they always say 'there's nothin to it' - i beg to differ! I forgot there was other stuff i could do apart from vw's in my spare time!

well hopefully when I sort out the garden and finnish building my furnace I'll be doing a bit of metal casting and glass blowing......

nothing interesting, build websites in my spare time which helps pay for the VWs :D

When I'm not working on my van....

I'm working on my beetle

Otherwise, I'm a student which means I sit around doing nothing all day. Except for the 25 hours of lectures a week, and the courseworks and exams

I seem to spend a lot of time working on pedal cars / projects for my grandson
and
cleaning my bikes
and
this year trying to sell a big chunk of my toy collection :(

plus
moving cars in and out of the garage & up and down the drive

that is why I am trying my hardest to get down to 2 cars

I did some glass blowing at uni, really loved it.

The last time i worked on my van was December :D Apart from cleaning it, i like to play my guitars, ride my bike and fly my big ass kite.

Didn't notice that kites had ass's

Cool....

Just love manipulating the molten glass, just get lost in the moment...

to be honest wanting to go into sand casting and play with the stuff, get back into my artistic side, building a waste oil furnace and quite fancy messing about with metal casting, got a few ideas i'm working on VW related...

The minute the rain stops for long enough I can look at putting up my new shed (freebee from the fater in law) get my furnace up and running :D hopefully I dont burn the house down

I did my degree in 3d design. I spent most of my time pratting about with glass/ceramics/metalwork etc...
Now im a design technician and pretty much do the same kind of stuff.

A shed/workshop in the gardain sounds brilliant.

Looks like a very nice amp there 8)

Good to see other kiters on here - that's what I'd like to be doing most with my time, but i guess most of my time is spent with the kids. Working on VWs is only really done once they're all in bed.

college one day a week, work in resto garage other 4 days, also referee 2 kids so there's no ww3, look after the dog/cat/rabbit n house etc. n anyhting else that needs doing. coz if i don't no-one else does

I spend any time im not working on the van, working on the notch! blinking things costing far too much

The rest of my time is spent in the surf, at the gym, getting tattooed (heavily!) or drinking cider with all of my friends

well there's work obviously, but lets not go there (wish i didn't have to!)

i also study taekwondo, and teach it a bit, and promote my own club nights that blend music and film/visuals

If I'm not working on my van, I'm at work doing other peoples vans.
Any spare time is spent playing guitar, mountain biking, snow boarding, drinking.... or just to make a change playing with something else that leaks oil....

Close as I'll get to flying it, doing the brakes as we tow it round to the pan for an engine run..
