Hi all and greetings from Kandahar Afghan.

I have been doing a little shopping online in my down time and really need a fresh trolley jack and set of decent axle stands for the bus.
Could any of you fine folks recommend me any?

Ideally I am looking for a minimum 3Ton jack with a high lift capacity so I can drop the engine safely without removing the rear bumper/tow bar.

Budget wise I dont want to go crazy but my trust halfords jack has blown its seals so need to get one ordered ready for my return in March.

Cheers for the advise :D

Hi stu,

I've got one of these from machine mart, well built and pretty high lift

They also do a 'proper' high lift version

But only 2 ton

And a pair of melco stands

Do what they say on the tin and don't break the bank 8)

SGS Engineering are definitely worth a look - they have a lovely range of lifting and supporting equipment at good prices and are well recommended by anyone I've come across who use them.

I recently bought a 3 ton low entry trolley jack from them and am very impressed compared to my other 1.25 ton Clarke one. Will also be getting a set of axle stands from them to suit.

Cheers for the info fellas,

Have decided to order the SGS Engineering Low Profile 3T jack and ratchet axle stands - looks like fantastic bits of kit.

Not cheap but the amount I will be using them it will be more than worth it!
