Working hard to get the van ready for the summer 2012.

Giving the engine a lowered mount (3.5cm more clearance) and some maintenance (oil, sparkplugs, checking valves etc.) Also renewed some seals in the gearbox (they were leaking)

Also some extra Bling, deluxe grill for the front, jailbars for the rear.

Mounted my nos arms 8)

At the moment i'm working on some extra music, mounted tweeters in the dash. Al the wires are hidden behind the sealing, through the front window post to the back. Al aps and the bassdriver are coming between the roof (place where the deluxe busses have there sliding roof).

And when i was working on the doors i put in some extra lights just for fun :lol:

Time for a update, new MOT for two years 8)

New front screen is placed, old one cracked when we placed a new seal .
Mounted new tires, 165/55 and 185/65 bus is now 53,cm up front and on air 57,5/58cm.
Made a isofix bracket so my daughter (5 months old) can ride with us, sunday her second vw-meeting :lol:
Also did a bunch of small things; mounted a jall bar, extra speakers placed in the doors, new seal placed for the rear window, repaired the small rear 1/4 window (now i can open en close it again), mounted second battery relays, rewired my tow bar (American rear lights and a European connection will not work together), mounted new motor bracket, new clutch placed etc.etc. She’s driving great again. Reupholstered seats and door panels are in, will make some photo’s this weekend 8)

The suby donor is also stored in the garage, front damage is big but engine looks ok, some parts are broken but can be fixed

Yesterday we had a good vw-meeting on the beach, nice weather and good people. Was the first time with our daughter of 5 months on a meeting, she had a great time in her child-cot (forgot to take a photo ) here are some shots that i found on the web 8)

I'm installing the Air shocks in my bus now.
Could you tell us why you modified yours?



The shocks are MA824 Monroe witch i modified to adapt a npt-pneumatic fitting:

In fact my problem is my bus is not going up when I try. I 've just test with a Big tire compressor and not the one in the bus. Do you think it is the problem? Too much pressure, too quick?

Pressure is pressure, fast or slow 8)
How is your bus lowered? Do you have a narrowed beam? the movement is all in the torsion stiffness! i've lowered mine on dropped spindels and also on adjusters and only the top adjusters is lowered, so the lower torsionbar has stiffness in it.... :idea:

I've modified the shocks to bigger tubes (6mm) for faster movement and nicer fittings (didn't liked the original ones )

Mine has a linkpin narrowed beam with dropped spindles and disks.
Adjusters are in thé middle . I m gonna try to release the upper one.
I Will tell you
For the size of the airline , i Will start with the original one becauSe the Speed is not So important for me at this Time .
