Diesel heater install.
Cut the perforated panel away from under the n/s seat, made a template for the holes required through the floor and drilled them out.

The outlet nozzle rotates, and I'll eventually fit a removable cover.
Just waiting on a bespoke diesel tank for the engine bay.

To get the heater under the seat base it can't be any wider or taller than 120mm.

Anybody need a 5kW diesel heater? It was sent by mistake and they won't accept returns.
Box only opened to measure heater body.

I also ran some speaker cables from the dash to the Westy bed base, but decided on a twin voice coil speaker for the original speaker position.

Unfortunately this meant the rev counter pod and wiring were in the way, so they had to be relocated. Had to drill two holes in the dash top that I wasn't too happy about, but never mind.
Speaker in and working. I added some foam seal around the edge of the speaker to wedge it under the dash edge trim and the bottom is held by two machine screws.
Quite impressed with the sound actually.

I think I've finally sorted the gearshift issues, hopefully.
Drilled another dimple in the rear shift rod about 5mm towards the gearbox, so effectively shortening the shift rod.
Goes into all gears, most especially reverse which was the issue.

While the front was up in the air, yet again, I remembered to grease the beam and spindles.

Did your moving the join position 5mm rearwards have the effect of pivoting your gearknob further forwards, such that the cup on the end of the shiftrod which the gearstick ball fits into has moved backwards off the front bush by 5mm too.
Or is it drawing the rear section of the shiftrod further forward slightly away from the gearbox nosecone?

Today was spent butchering some ply, the Westy bed base to be exact.

Drop down door marked out. The bacon sandwich was very nice.

The router came out for the edge trim slot in the panel and door.

I bought some American cherry veneer a while back just for this.

Glued and clamped. Next job is trimming the veneer, a bit of oil to finish and then the edge trims can be glued on.
