Cheers Des, my logic was go big or don't bother  Took a while to gather all the bits but Hector is adamant that it will go like a stabbed rat when it's done. Plus getting the most expensive components is piece of mind, something I really want because I'm going travelling next year. Ollie you really need to enlighten me on this 'Teatowel' thing! Asked him, he laughed and said Ginger nob

Well I've decided that now I've spent a killing on a bonkers motor it may be wise to upgrade the brakes. Looking at this kit 8)

Dunno weather to get wide 5 adaptors or redrill the back end and get some detailed Fuch :msn4:

Hi,

Brakes look nice - pricey i bet, there was a chap on the SSVC doing Wilwood kits for splitty's, I'll fish out the thread if i find it...

Here, have a look at this thread

http://www.ssvc.org.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=86272&p=665359&hilit=Wilwood+brake+kit#p665359" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Mentions that some Wilwood calipers have no dust seals, as are track use, and the pads can also be a bit hard, anyway, I was treading bettween the lines, have a read anyway

Cheers,

Alistair

Cheers for the link mate, defiantly another option. The Willwood set-up is part of a Wagenwest kit, $980 US I believe which is less posted than CSP's from the usual suspects. Also CSP's vented kit is rated for applications up to 140hp, my motor is going to exceed that.

Back over to the sticks today, started mocking up the tinware. Got a Scat CAD plated kit and both Hector and myself were amazed with how good the fit on a stroker is  Needs a tiny bit of fettling but not a lot, once made to fit Dan at Buswerx is gonna give it a coat of OG satin black.

the only way to redeem your self from these awful sins is to send all those deviltoys to me and I will save your soul

Meh, would rather have a damned soul if it means I get to have a stupidly fast bus

Spent the week down Buswerx this week. We don't know how but some moisture got in the paint just after it was painted in November, possibly not fully hardened and then I drove it all winter, so may have been my fault but oh well. Dan was a star, bare metalled and resprayed the first 2 inches all the way round the bottom of my bus, done such a good job blending it in you would never know! :D

We had also planned on fitting the 5" link pin beam he made me and notch the chassis for some slammage but a local machinist had a simple task and ****** it up and I've now gotta wait another week  Also whist I was down there I got the spanners out and helped out while he was sorting mine

Got the work done early so we had lunch & a beer out with our buses enjoying the sun :)

Progress has slowed atm with the Spunk bus, still not got my beam back and I'm doing the tedious task of sorting oil and fuel lines for the 2110.

Then this happened.....

Top pulley shattered, jamming up the alternator and cooked it as I was pulling into a local VW show, Krusty was a star and brought a spare pulley but it was far more terminal so my Friend Derek sent his daughter over the next day to collect me.

I did paint my tinware though

And come up with a novel way of sealing it ;)

Whens the engine going in then dude?
PS is Hector helping you this weekend? I need to steel him to fit my new rockers! :msn4:

is the truck big enough.... could fit and grazy on there

Tis a lovely truck  don't make them like that now! Derek had to send that because it's got a special sliding back which was essential because my bus is lowered. Even then it scraped, gonna be buggered if I break down when it's slammed :?
