some ones going to be busy,hope you remembered the asembly lube and cam run in paste and formagasket to seal crankcase.is that a lightened flywheel? personaly I would have gone for a steel (heavy aftermarket)crank pully cos it helps with harmonics in crank but then you wont be using a lot of revs(just you wait ) :lol: :lol:

I know Dave I can't wait! Flywheel is stock because I read on a few build threads the weight helps with torque, lightened better for bugs and high revs (but then I know nothing). Pulley was a last minute buy as they needed one to do the balancing properly.

I'm not touching the valves at all Dave, will it still be ok for the porting?

That will be fine ,if your keeping the old valves I will lap them in,would have to do that with new anyway.

I've got a web 118 cam coming from the states and wondered if anyone can recommend or has any chromolly push rods and bolt up rocker shafts?

Ive had a wedding this weekend so am shattered but after work this week ill be stripping my trusty 1600 TP of its 36 dells and elec ignition as once the machine shops done I'm all systems go apart from the push rods and rockers :mrgreen:

Nothing major to report really... I spent tonight stripping my trusty 1600TP of its ancils to make it easier to drop when the time comes. I'm committed now!!! Took a wee but if video before I stripped it for when I sell to show how nicely it ran. I haven't started it for three weeks and it fired up first time. Fingers crossed this new build will be the same. :shock:

I'm pretty practiced at dismantling the top end now, only took me an hour.

1.25 bolt up rockers or just bolt up shaft with stock rockers. What's the opinion?

your call but I'd probably just do bolt up shafts and see what you think with the end result? of course someone will come along in a second and give you an explemary argument for choosing such things and make me look like a right plonker........ :lol:

WELL :msn4: its the "same" as puting the next grind cam in,more lift though not sure if you get more duration,tbh more lift is prob better than more duration for a "low"reving motor.

I have twin 36 dells jetted for 1600, two questions; does anyone know what jet sizes I should be looking for OR should I swap for a pair of 40's?

if you dont put 40s on you will need bigger venturis tbh prob easier to get 40s and the 36s will sell ok.
