Hello All,
Latest bus came with an eletric pump, not sure what flavour it is but 'tis a square jobbie that I think you can get from JK or the like for around £45.

works fine but the noise...... in the van turn the key and all you hear is the bloody pump, whir, whir whir.

My question is, does anyone know of a quiet one or can recommend one?

The huco ones are great http://www.dellorto.co.uk/merchandise/products.asp?CategoryID=8&PartsectionID=18" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Choose one that suits the pressure required by your carb

Where's it mounted? Don't mount it directly to metalwork, put some rubber between to act as a dampener. Should quieten the hum a bit.

I've just fitted a cb performance one. It comes with a regulator built in. I've mounted it to the left hand side of the engine bay with a rubber clip. I ran it for the first time yesterday. I've got no interior in the van at the mo and I could hardly hear it without the engine running!

I use these - they make a huge difference and the pump can't be heard inside:

They are quiet :mrgreen:

i have a facet pump mounted on the left hand side of the engine bay, i used 2 22mm tap washers to dampen the mount.

I personally like the fact I can hear it without the engine running from the cab, its not loud just enough to re assure me that its running, then with the engine running I cant hear it, so no dramas

Thank you very much gentlemen, will have a look at recommendations if the rubber idea doesn't fix it....
