Hey all. Well i have been working under my bus the last few days working on replacing my gear rod bush and while i was under there i thought she could do with another coat of paint or sealant etc. Anyway i have seen something called Lanoguard and just wondering if anyone has used it and is it any good ? Cheers.

I’ve purchased it and soon to cover the underside of our T2

Hey folks. Old thread i know but who else has used it on their buses etc ? I haven't bought any yet and still looking at reviews but its drawing me in. I got a few of my VWs to do and it just seems really good to me. What did you think about it after @Ben72Bay . Cheers 🤙.

I applied it to a customer bus and thought it was awful stuff, smells and that smell lingers, unless you heat the container up it cloggs the nozzle, I didnt think it was that good or would last very long as it only applies a thin coat, if you put too much on it drips off.
I'm sure others have had better experiences but its a NO from me.

I loved it. Smell dissipates and application was simple (I used the small bottle to apply over a long time to different parts of the bus). All gone and I’ll be getting some more before winter.

Use it on my daily driver and my Bus and have had good results so far
Super easy to apply. Don't think it gives super long lasting protection but every little helps!
I also still use this and like it, as Graham says it's worth heating the container up (leaving it in the sun or putting it in a bucket of warm water) and cleaning the nozzle as it will clog after use
I always apply it outside to save the smell

Hmm. A kind of mixed bag then. I think i will get it because if it protects then it cant be a bad thing. The smell wont bother me too bad i think. Il wear a mask ha. From what i have seen from the website etc it does seem good 🤙.

Interested in knowing an approximate cost to do the underside? As you get what you pay for and would factor in if its worth it?

Lanoguard recommend 1.5L per vehicle but personally I have bought 5L and after doing 4x medium/large vehicles I have only used 2.5L
I think it was around £100 for 5L

That seems great value for money then but hence its not going to be a great product but if you did it once a year as part of ur service I think youre onto a good thing

As mentioned previously mixed reviews online from I've researched.

So looking approx

Hey @T2 Brinky well im going to go for the 88 pound kit in the large with the wand for the sills etc and apparently it covers the size of a Transit van according to them so im thinking buses like ours will be enough. I got my daily to do too which is 29 years old and only a small VW so should be enough to do both. If not they do refills too. 🤙.

I can’t recommend it enough!
The zero prep needed is worth it alone, takes hours of graft away from the task.
I happily re apply year after year as it really isn’t difficult at all. It works very well indeed.

Regarding the smell, I actually like it! But only because I like farm smells for nostalgic reasons. 😂
One thing I didn’t expect though was for my dog to be so fascinated with the smell… she can be regularly found under my bus, sniffing the belly pans for the first few weeks after a Lanogaurd application.

I say go for it! But be prepared to check under your bus for animals before driving off each day.

This stuff is being pushed really hard everywhere at the moment, which to me itself is a bit of a red flag. Anyway, it is only a waterproofing agent and has no rust arresting/inhibiting ability, so it's of very limited appeal to me. (Read, none!)

Let them keep their sheep juice and do the job properly with Dinitrol or Dynax, products that will actually work to stop the spread of rust. Messy and more work, but when did "easy" ever really work properly for anything? You'll not see much retail advertising for these products, you usually don't for the proper stuff that actually works!

Completely agree, all you are doing is trapping the rust and moisture in especially if you do no prep to the underside first.
