I am running wagenwest dropped spindles (Welded) 2.5" drop with adjusters in the beam. Getting a little bit of tyre scrub so hoping this will solve my problem by firming up the front.

Only really 2 more questions to be solved here i can see. Where is the cheapest and best place to get the gaz front coilovers 150lb for my bus?
do i need back ones too? my bus is at my dads just now so appologies if its a stupid question.

You shouldn't need back ones, normal (although smaller) shocks should suffice. I found it difficult to get prices as a lot of places want you to call. The ones I found were all very similar so I went straight to Gaz as it allowed me to check I was ordering the right bits as well. Still think it's probably worth arranging a group buy if there is enough interest!

Most people went direct to Gaz, as for wagen west you will need diffferent length shocks i think.Although it might work... there's plenty of adjustment.

I bought my pair 10 days ago from Dampertech ( [email protected] 01709 703992 ) £202 delivered.
I had contacted Gaz first but said they where out of stock for 3-4 weeks, Gaz forwarded me to Dampertech, got them the next day but a bit more money. Good service.

Id be up for a group buy. how do u go about it? If it saves me and others a few quid then all the better.
Thanks for the advice as well always helpful on here.

Ok guys so I measured from top shock mount to bottom shock mount and I get 12", would be interested to know what you guys all measured? Also do I just give Gaz this measurement and they will work out the shock length needed?

Is that measurement with the shocks off both sides? I think the 16s should do you but if you have a chat with them they'll offer the best advice :)

To be honest this is the measurement with the shocks on, they are currently doing bugger all and I know I had to compress the shocks to get them on when I fitted them

Hi Matt, I`m thinking about this route as well. Are your shocks the motorcycle type with the little coil over on mate ?? As mine have given up the ghost and I`m starting to wonder if they did actually do anything apart from looking shiney and chromey when I put them on there. Not sure if they did sumfink or nuffink at all. I`m also starting to get a fair bit of squeaking that sounds like suspension (shocks maybe) at slowish speeds but the beam and stuff were recently greased.

So guys what do I need then, for a standard beam with no adjusters on and T Haus dropped spindles and a fat bloke driving

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Not toooooo fat

Mine are just standard dampers. Think off the rear of a beetle. This is a new setup for me as was running the Red 9 coilover kit with wagenwest 2.5" dropped spindles but have now removed the Red 9 kit and fitted adjusters.
Haven't actually driving any great distance with the new setup but I know it does rub so need some coilover to firm the front up a bit.

would the GAZ GP shocks fit my setup ok, as ive not got dropped spindles.
my setup is:
CE Weedeater 2 - 3.75inch Narrowed Ball Joint Beam (Over engineered work of art)
2 Spline and levelled on CE Adjustable Spring Plates

Also has anyone had any Creative Engineering shocks fitted? As i was very close to purchasing these before seeing this thread! Your knowledge is welcome!

Just been in contact with GAZ and these are now £210.30 delivered with 10" 150lb springs and damper tech are £202 delivered, if anyone's interested. Currently out of stock for approx 1 week.

Just done a bit more searching and have got mine as 2.25units to accept 150lb 9" x 2.25 springs for the grand total of £176 through rallydesign.co.uk.
Will put up pics when fitted, also got adjustable spring plates to fit so maybe a week or so.

I'm not sure if the 2.25s will fit. 1.9 are on the tight side.....

2.25 will fit on standard beams! I drive them since few month and they are perfect, but additional I have used helper springs, 3"/40LBS.
hope that helps!

sorry for my english :? and the late bay

2.5 wagonwest dropped spindles. Plus adjusters in the beam.

From top eye to bottom eye measured 12" Gaz advised getting the 14" spring.
