Which Gearbox oil do we all prefer ?

Best gearbox oil for an aircooled ?
I'm wondering about the GL4 v GL5 argument - and which brand that is available in the UK
Which do we recommend ?

Hi,

IIRC, stock ep80/90 is gl4, but is available as a semi synth gl5, i also recall that gearboxes without ever using the later gl5 they have softer, or different bronze bushes, which can be affected by gl5, now i may have read this about my old landrover, but something about gl5 sticks in my mind.

Gl4 is readilly available, and any oil change will no doubt be better than the old 40 year old stuff inside.

Someone with more knowledge will be about in a bit
