Which Windscreen?

Needing help guys

Over the winter I took the screen out to clean up the lower lip under the screen.

Bought a new seal, put the screen back in.

Took it for its first wee drive and hit a bird!!! Cracked the screen.

Called my insurance and the guys tried to fit it yesterday but cracked it fitting it!! ( after 3 hours trying to fit it )

They took my old screen away and ordered a new for today.

New screen is 7mm taller then mine?

Has anybody had a new screen fitted recently? Which company was it. Wot make was the glass.

My old screen was a German top tinted.

They have ordered a clear one to see if it's different?

Their supplier is probably making them to any dimensions they fancy, either that or your screen has been repaired before amd made to short, so the glass was custom cut before (unlikely) vw heritage screens should be a good bet (im getting a heated one cos i'm fancy)

Bought a new seal, put the screen back in.

Was the seal a German spec one? Expensive and nice and soft? If not, that could be the problem. Couldn't get my screen in until I got a proper seal.

The new top tint screens are a little big but shouldn't be 7mm bigger,

They are from a brazilian bay,

The clear ones are better!
