hi all,
i bought this towbar in good faith that it will fit an early bay :?: :?: i have just put it up to the back of my bus and for the life of me i cant see how it will ever fit??/
I must add that i have not removed my bumper or the exhaust.

Can anyone shed any light on the towbar?? is there any bits missing???

it does say on the badge that it made by PEKA for a VW 750kg etc etc.

cheers

This replaces the irons and the bumper bolts to it but not an early bay and dont think its a late bay either....

I'm not saying you are wrong Araon, but this does look very similar to my towbar. As said it replaces the irons and the bumper fixes to it. Try it and see.

Faux, do you mean remove the bumper irons from the bumper?? then attch the tow bar to the bumper??? then fit them both to the bus???

If you do, which i think you do. then the flat ends at the end of the tube are to big to go into the holes where the irons would fit

Unless they fit on the sides of the chassie and bolt through both parts ????

help me. i have a nice westy trailer and no tow bar to pull it

looks similar to mine (same as faux's) but mine didn't had the side bracket so I welded it to the bumper irons, yes I'm a bit rough  , but it hasn't fallen off yet :?

birchyman,
i have already tried that m8, no joy

ianscooby,
thats the way i'm thinking(some thing missing/needs welding etc)

i have ask the VZI gang, i hope that they may be able to throw some light on it

cheers marcher

Mine shoudl have had the plates bloted on so it's abount 6mm to short to fit between the irons, so if you go this route some packers are needed, also watch you can get the inner bumper blots on

It does seem to have a few oddities I agree but it is similar. The captive nuts, make be think 'no' and the angle on the bumper mount but I would have try it before I do anything.

It looks as though it is wrong so I would then go down the route Ian has gone down and weld to the og irons making sure you reinforce the brackets.

faux/ian, chaps any chance i could have some photos so i can fully understand what you mean?????
cheers :D
