Today was spent butchering some ply, the Westy bed base to be exact.

Drop down door marked out. The bacon sandwich was very nice.

The router came out for the edge trim slot in the panel and door.

I bought some American cherry veneer a while back just for this.

Glued and clamped. Next job is trimming the veneer, a bit of oil to finish and then the edge trims can be glued on.

'butchering some ply' you say? Mate, that looks a cracking job, quality workmanship!

Diesel heater fuel tank arrived and has been fitted.
That was a nice easy job that took most of the day because someone had previously bolted a remote oil filter housing under the battery tray.

Really like that solution for the fuel tank (looks lovely work as well!) - would have much preferred to put mine then if I didn't have the second battery in that location.

I was going to fit another battery there and then get a wedge shaped tank made that fitted in front of it between the spare wheel well and wheel tub.

@sparkywig
That’s a neat idea.
Gets the fuel out of the living space.

Tricky to fill maybe?
Do you know someone that could make that wedge tank?
If so I’d appreciate their details please.

Nice work, where is your leisure battery going? I remember @Bundy put his at the front for better weight distribution and I would love to change the position of mine too for the same reason

So, after yet another aftermarket ignition switch failing I've had to strip the steering column again.
I had a new switch in stock, but this was just as notchy and stiff as the previous ones.
The good news is that I found an original switch in a box of parts.

Picked the trim cards up this week, so made a start this morning.
Cleaned up the original trim rings.

Slightly nervous cutting holes in brand new trim panels.

I'm after some of the rubber matting that fits around the seat base, don't need the complete pieces just the bit that is in the pic below.
The usual suspects sell the complete set for around £130, but I'll be throwing away 3/4 of it.

Back to the interior trim cards.
Rear hatch card and a combination of NOS and used panel clips. I've had to trim the vinyl where the clips are to get them to the right position.

The brown run down the card in the last pic is the cavity wax I used on the inner frame of the hatch.
I've actually sprayed all the internal panels where the trim cards are fitted.
As it took just over an hour to fit the rear hatch card I don't want to take them off again.

After almost 5 hours trying to get the clips in the right position on the large panel opposite the sliding door, I've come to the conclusion that the holes in the ply backing boards don't line up with the holes in the bus.

So I've decided that I'm going to try to stick them on with 3M panel tape, can't be arsed to muck about any longer with these awful panel clips.
The rear panels will have to be stuck anyway, as there's no other way of securing them.
