Thanks for the positive comment (I think).
Leg is good thanks - been good for a year now but still not playing squash

Hey Andy,

Good to see you're still here with us :D
Are you not playing squash yet out of choice, or out of injury? :?

All the best, mate!

Yo George, I am still alive!!

Regarding squash - both really as loved playing but now started cycling more and the injury no longer bothers me but a bit nervous of damaging it by playing squash!

How's your ticker doing???

A skim of filler, sanding then cleaning up.
Followed up with a dusting of etch primer then red primer as seen here:

A little update from the weekend:

06.09.2015
Filled in the hole in the nearside rear arch area on the other side of the chassis where I removed metal when I was removing the inner panel that sits on the chassis leg (can't remember it's name...)

Tacked in:

Welds ground down:

A coat of rust protection:

Will seam seal tomorrow and put a coat of paint on.
Spent some time putting in the closing panel on the nearside rear tub, but no pics.
Also noticed that the gutter around the side of the roof where the hinges are for the pop top are knackered :(
Ground them down a bit and put some rust protector on them but will need to be cut out and replaced.
Anyone got any off cuts they can spare (need 2 pieces around 5 inches each)??

10.09.2015

After seamsealer and rust prevention liquid, added undercoat then topcoat:

Nearside.

Offside.

So - next will be the mudguards for the arch tubs so better get them ordered.

15.09.2015

Bloody weather - now getting darker earlier (as my old man used to say '...getting late early'!!) and also damper so decided to make a little tent to allow me to continue to work on the van.
Works (not sure how well when the wind whips up...

Just need to be ground down then seam sealed, painted etc.

Started working on the inside of this arch as plenty of metal removed from inside so will pop some pics up soon of the progress (if your interested that is...)

16.09.2015

On the inside area near the nearside tub, when rotten metal was removed it left the side panel flapping around in the air, as can be seen below:

So, some metal fabrication and welding I ended up with this (my welds seem to be getting worse as time goes on....)

Plan for tomorrow is some grinding an tarting up.
Then, move on to the next thing that needs doing!

20.09.2015:

A bit of garage time today.

Started on the tub area - the leading mud guard - before...

20150917_170959_zpsdonhnem5.jpg

Cut out the rot and left with a hole to fill

20150920_124256_zpsafmugbt1.jpg

Started to weld in and ran out of weld wire - great

20150920_144515_zpsrigssbyq.jpg

Started to grind down what I had welded in.

Then thought I would try one of the bumber step to see how it looks - works OK.

Also, inside near the nearside tub, coats of rust protector and ready for paint.
