I just want to confirm that I'm doing the timing right on my engine...
Its a 1600 vege recon, twin webers, fitted with a Bosch 009 distributor.

Is it correct to:
1. Adjust valves to 0.06
2. Check points / dwell angle
3. Warm up engine and set timing >3000 rpm at 32degrees BTDC ?

i think i did mine at 6 degrees before tdc,at 800rpm,dont quote me on it tho ,im sure someone will tell me im wrong if i am.watch and wait,

I did mine statically (ie without engine running) as per John Muir. Makes sense, and seems to work OK.

i always set them statically at 7.5 BTC, each to their own but ive set 100s (maybe a 1000) engines like this
